Even though my preference is to be outside... the weather is cold, the snow is constant and it feels good right now to be by the fire staring at a screen.

I'm also teaching a few B&W darkroom classes (yes with film and chemistry). Of course it is the basis of everything digital, but more than that, it's now an art form as opposed to a necessity. Anyone that has worked with film knows the satisfaction of the delayed gratification of seeing film you've had to wait for and the pleasure of seeing an image emerge in the developer.

That said, for me the real pleasure is taking the image and making it personal with experimental chemistry and hands on manipulation. Photoshop is great but there's nothing like making art by hand. (check out the "lith" prints [textured] under "personal" on my site).
